DURBAN - President Jacob Zuma's third wife, Thobeka Madiba, is set to marry her second husband, a source in Durban disclosed on Wednesday.
Madiba became engaged to Joseph Ka'Prafule, a prominent KwaZulu-Natal businessman of Nigerian origin, a few weeks after her marriage on January 4 to the South African president.
However, news of the engagement was kept quiet as the presidency was keen to avoid any further controversy around the president's private life ahead of his state visit to the United Kingdom.

Zuma's spokesperson Vincent Magwenya was initially reluctant to comment on the upcoming wedding, saying it was "a private family matter."
However, when asked whether the presidency's spousal office budget would be expanded to accommodate the president's wife's new husband he said legal advice was currently being taken.

On the question of whether President Zuma had any objection to his wife marrying another man Magwenya referred us to his recent comment that "The constitution says there are diversities. It recognises this. And that we should respect cultures of others. No-one has a right, therefore, to use his or her own to judge others. It's unconstitutional if you do so." Politicsweb

I respect very much women's quest for gender equality and freedom but I donot view women desire to have several spouses as gender equality or freedom.
Let us go medical. You know the female gender anatomy more than I do because it is part of you. There is a lot of health risk if women bed several men because every time women mate, the residue of the bed remains in a woman for much longer and that provides ample opportunity for transmission and growth of diseases of the bed and the fewer bed mates women have, the healthier the woman lives. Accept it or reject it at your risk. Ask yourself of the "fast" girls you have met in life, at school, at church, where are they now? 6 feet down, dead and decomposed.
If you look at every African Cultural prohibition in relation to women like a) Thou shalt not know man before marriage b) Thou shalt not have multiple relationships. All these prohibitions are for women and their welfare.
Maybe you do not understand the female that you are. It is a survival instinct for a female to want to mate and have offsprings to carry forward its name but in doing so the mating of a female must be controlled to protect the female and its offsprings. Why?
1) If a girl mate without a marriage contract, she may get pregnant out of contract and that means when the man chooses to reject or sometimes the mating may be so casual that the man may not even know that he has impregnated someone somewhere, the onus to take care of pregnancy and the baby becomes on the fragile pregnant girl's shoulders. When a girl is not married, it is very difficult to provide for herself during pregnancy and the child may lack the essential elements of growth during gestation. When the child is born, again the woman body would be too exhausted to fend for offspring and again herself and the baby would be at risk.
2) If woman mates often with every male she desires, the risks are too high, HIV, STIs, Cervical Cancer. Mai Chibwe our fathers, those that built the Great Zimbabwe and the Giza Pyramids when the Caucasians were still residents of Caucasus mountain eating raw rats; were so skilled in Science and Medicine that when they formulated these restrictions in African Culture it was after so much research and observation. Please note that a circumcised male hardly has any medical problem concerning mating, check with your husband if at all he is circumcised.
So if you think you want to be empowered by gender equality by the former residents of Caucasus Mountain to do every unimaginable bed issue, the risk is yours. You can proceed to teach your daughters to bed like female dogs, but let you be assured that those children would not live beyond 40 years, whether HIV vaccine is found or not. We can begin to mobilize funds for their burial but should they continue to die, we will encourage careless parents to mourn and bury their errand children alone!!!!!

The Nigerian man himself knows what he is getting into. The only worrisome issue is that of possibility of bankrupting that nation with that Nigerian in the nation's capitol. The whole nation did not cry fowl when Zuma married 3, let them get the taste of their own medicine with whats coming with that Nigerian. The whole Nigerian nation will be behind their fellow countryman's achievement and just watch. Idi Amin's young wife was cut in half when she tried it, we will see how successful this one and her Nigerian husband will be. I wonder whose culture the presidental spokesperson was refering to. No African man except the polyandry/polyhusbandry in tribes like the one Ghana tribe, is more likely to knowingly share his wife, not even mistress etc, with another man. Unless it's their Nigerian juju man who is coming home.
So amai Chibwe by addressing the issue of and possibility of those women catching this bug or that from the bed, you are simply barking at a tree. The problem here is way beyond that and past that in my opinion.
