ZAPU-UK has warned its supporters from attending meetings called by controversial elder Jabavu Mpofu. The party has accused Mpofu of destabilising the province by pushing foward a selfish agenda of trying to re-instate two deposed members. He has called a meeting in Coventry this week, but ZAPU-UK chairman Dr Ralf Mguni says the meeting is problematic and has urged supporters not to attend. There are reports that Mpofu is not a bona-fide member of the party and his nomination was a low-grade.
By Dr Ralf Mguni (ZAPU-UK chairman)
Sometimes it becomes prudent to set time aside to correct untruths such as those that have been appearing in various media concerning our Province and Executive.
The untruths are mostly deliberate distractions employed by detractors to try to steer the people’s movement off course. Judging from the near feverish pitch and absurdity of some of the allegations, there is no doubt that our concerted efforts in the service of our people have caused someone, somewhere to take fright.
What better way to attempt to derail the people’s movement than just concoct malicious claims, throw up some smokescreens in an effort to befuddle and confuse. All this nonsense about illegality, our Provincial Executive acting against legitimate directives from the NEC, why don’t people establish facts before rushing to irrational conclusions and assertions?
Conventional wisdom is never to under estimating a desperate person, especially one in the pay of the dictator, paid to cause havoc and destruction to people’s aspirations.
I do share the exasperation of our true leaders in the National Executive Council. I pledge total co-operation of the Europe Province Executive Committee with the NEC, as they attempt to clean up the mess being perpetrated by the malefactors in our midst. I know that our NEC would have anticipated a full onslaught on our party by the beleaguered regime. I know also that they have full confidence in our ability to stand and act in concert with them as we try to excise this cancer and menace before it spreads in our party.
The detractors will conjure up warm words indeed; they will raise banners proclaiming empowerment of our people but at the same time come up with incorrigible actions which betray their malfeasance! They hoist themselves on to pedestals to act as demigods, threatening people with expulsion from the people’s party!
Their blubbering, incoherent pronouncements and attempts to point a crooked way forward would have been laughable if it did not have such serious repercussion on our long suffering people’s plight. Their random cack-handed expulsion and suspension of members from the people’s party betrays both their evil intent and a total lack of understanding of the founding principles of our party.
They would be quite happy to prolong our people’s suffering by constant attempts to suppress the people’s voice. They will unashamedly and heartlessly extort the meagre and very hard earned people’s money to fund their lavish life styles!
The only possible explanation of their actions is that they are simply carrying out a directive; at times a paid hand simply carries out a command; he/she does not ask for a reason behind such action.
The tenacity of the minority of the self-seeking individuals, their trickery in devising nefarious and iniquitous ways to thwart the will of the people using gravity defying antics must be a clear warning of the threats we face in attempting to empower our people.
They will stop at nothing. They will selectively quote our ZAPU constitution; they will forge messages purporting to come from the entirety of the NEC in order to frustrate the people’s will; they will claim ownership of our Party; they will even blackmail to try to achieve their wicked goals.
There are many bent on frustrating the people’s wishes and aspirations. One of my roles as Chair of this Province is the defence of our very dedicated members and of the Executive.
There was no equivocation in the message given in Leicester on October, 3 2009 by the people represented by their delegates from all corners of our Province. In the solemn mandate given on that day there was no provision for us to try to engage in expedient horse trading with some malcontents who would never accept any outcome that does not place them at the helm of the people’s movement.
Instead, the message given to the Committee could be stated as: present the wishes of the people to the NEC and embark on a program to raise our people from the doldrums to which they have been cast by the regime. Our people have suffered for too long. Enough of humiliation, there comes a time when the quarry will flee no more.
The first requirement has been met. The NEC has the reports from the Election Committee, the presiding Elders and from me clearly indicating that in voting in the Executive on October, 3, careful consideration was taken to adhere to both the letter and the spirit of our Party’s constitution.
Thereafter, our most diligent Committee has embarked on a program of action as befitting the demands of the needs of our people. The membership is requested to participate in the plans.
I have stated before but I will repeat the message from our Honourable Interim NEC Chairman, Dr Dabengwa: “Follow the Constitution, go with the people’s will”. I am pleased to declare to all that our Committee has never and will never deviate from the guidance given by the NEC Chairman.
I would be failing in my duty of care if I did not go back to the malicious messages posted on various information systems and intended to mislead and confuse.
I think I am right in stating that age on its own does not qualify one to be a ZAPU elder. A modicum of sanity and good judgment is also called for. Essential too is that anyone in this position of trust and respect be a verifiable member, be active in the political life of the formation they serve and deserve the respect of those they would seek to guide and lead.
A moot point to be re-visited by our leaders is whether such elders can simply be appointed or need to be elected or selected by the membership they serve. The route of appointment has revealed its inherent dangers in the lack of accountability and disdain for people’s opinions shown by one such so called elder. In this person’s befuddled mind, he and his band of two or three own the party. No one opens their mouth until given express permission to do so.
Do I see parallels here with what has brought our country to its knees? Are such individuals acting in line with the guiding principles of ZAPU to respect the rights of all? It is with sadness and a very heavy heart that I have to advise all our members to disassociate themselves with the directives emanating from this maverick so called elder. His is intent to gerrymander the will of the people, impose individuals that people have rejected on us and thereby frustrate the people’s wishes and aspirations.
Our culture would require that I have a modicum of respect for one so senior in years. But respect cuts both ways. Wisdom would require that those that seek to lead begin by showing respect to those they seek to preside over.
In order that our members are not deliberately misled by notices, e-mails from sundry mischievous sources; meetings, announcements and information pertaining to ZAPU Europe Province will only appear on our website: www.zapu.org.uk.
Again, beware of conmen trying to sign you up for membership. There is evidence that all they are after is your money! If in doubt seek advice from your District Executive Committee members whose details appear on our website as well.
God bless our people! God bless ZAPU!

YOU ARE JUST SAYING MGUNI IS OK, BY WHAT. YOU ARE NOT DIFFERENT FROM THOSE PEOPLE WHO JUST SAY MGABE IS OK. THE FACTS IS PEOPLE SHOULD UNITE - NO ONE IS RIGHT OR WRONG. DONT IGNORE THE IZIKHALAZO ZABANTU EVEN IF THEY 5.
AND DONT TRY TO GAIN YOUR POLITICAL MIELAGE BY CAALLING OTHER PEOPLE NAMES SUACH AS CIO.
BAFA ABANYE ABANTU JUST NGOKUTHIWA NGABATHENGISI NGESIKHATHI SEGUKARAHUNDI NGOBA KUTHIWA NGABATHENGISA JUST BECASUE OF DIFFERENT IDEAS OR JUST UMCABANGO YOKULOYA.
DONT USE GUKARAHUNDI DISCOURSE TO COLONISE PEOPLE'S MINDS. LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE WHAT THEY WANT--BE LEICESTER OR CONVETRY.
t
O DZIMIRI
DONT ASSUME THERE IS NO ONE WHO CAN LEAD BETER THAN MGUNI. THEY DID TO MGABE LOOK AT THE ZIUMBABWEAN SITUATUATION NOW. I LIKE MGUNI IS CLEVER EDUCATED GUY BUT AT THE MOMENT HAS FAILED TO UNITE THE PEOPLE. WE WANT ONE ZAPU. IF MGUNI HAS GOT POWER TO STOP THE CONVETRY MEETING IS SIMPLE...HE JUST COMMINCATE WITH NEC THATS ALL. IS THERE A FRUITFULL COMMUNICATION BETWEEN NEC AND MGUNI OR IS COMMUNICATING WITH INDIVIDUALS AS ALL MEMBERS OF THE PARTY ARE DOING.
PEOPLE THINK DO NOT BE USED BY OTHER PEOPLE. IF MGUNI IS SERIOUS AS HE CLAIMS THAT HAS GOT THE MAJORITY LET HIM COME GO TO CONVENRTY WITH HIS MAJORITY ' OBVIOUS IS GOING TO WIN IF PEOPLE WANT HIM'. IF HE DOES NNT GO THEN IT MEANS NEXT WEEK WE WILL BE HAVING A NEW PROVINCIAL CHAIRMAN UNLESS THE GROUP BECOMES REBELS AND ENFORCE THEIR WAY AS THEY DOING NOW.
MGUNI AND YOUR TEAM UNTITE THE PEOPLE

If you are thirsty for blood go back to Mgodoyiland. ZAPU UK voted for Mguni. Manje nifunani. You want to have elections every month until you get a rigged result. Is ZAPU now for individuals. Are there people that are being paid to destroy our party or what? Is there a directive that says only the CIO are allowed to lead the party and not the choice of the members? You want uChatungwa Mugabe or someone from Muzarabani to lead ZAPU? Directive or no Directive, ZAPU follows the people. Abanye ningo bornfree. Thina we remember 1975 ANC congress when umdala was released from Gonakudzingwa. Nisuthi amakhekhe ako Tesco ama buy one get one free yini.
Pure and simple, icommittee ekhona mayiye phambili nomsebenzi. Why do you complain like amaswina who used to cry for Moses Chunga to be in Fabisch's dream team. Nabo they used to say, "Nkonjera out, Rahman out, there is a directive from ZIFA that Moses must play even if he is injured." What is it that uMguni cannot do that you want you want uJabavu to do. What is wrong with supporting your party, sakhe.
So I warn you zihlobo, do not destroy your own means to justice. Do not divide your people over nothing. Do not do voluntary work for Mugabe. Support Dr Mguni and help the party. Fighting or creating another structure will only serve oMgodoyi. Be patient. Abanokhuhlane wezikhundla mayuyu.
Mzizi othanda ukuthi izinto zibekwe egcekeni, just do a CIO database check of the organisers of the Coventry meeting. Come back lapha and tell us the results.
Please tell us the results before the 21st. We want to know why these few people are so determined to destroy the people's party.

Mguni just met SA provincial- probably yes but NEC leaders refuse to speak to him on the phone.
ZAPU is a leader because of people - even Mugabe has got his right hand people who are still saying is in power because of people - thats cheap politics.
If there are problems why cant you solve them not removing people from poitions because they dont support your idea (thats a bad approach).
No one is right either Jabavu or Mguni - but there is no need to accuse the other side as CIOs to increase your political milliage.

1) Manchester district was reconstituted because it disolved itself through resignations hence the provincial executive had a responsibility to reform that district. No one was forced out, please get your facts right
2) "Mnguni went home and the NEC refused to meet him" first I believe he was in South Africa had meeting the SA provincial represntatives.
3) People ZAPU is a political movement for the people by the people. Mnguni is the PEC chairman beacuse 10 UK district members elected him to that position. People came also from Germany, Scotland and Ireland to put him in that position. I don't know what other endorcements he needs to lrgitimise his leadership.
4) The directive culture that some ZAPU members have become obsessed with is puzzling. The gentleman or elder in question who seems to be spear heading the 21 Nov meeting was tasked with re-establishing communication and bring harmony to the old executive in fighting after the distasteful manner in which the two gentlaman mentioned by some commmentors above where expelled from their positions. But the man sat on that responsibility for months I believe till this day he never called those members to full fill his responsibilities. I am not sure whether this 21st meeting is for that purpose or not? has he informed the old executive to come to restablished ties and iron out their difference or has re-difined the directive to pursue other agendas.
5) In any political movement we will always have disagreeing voices. Even Obama till this day they are people who are decampagning him and trying at every corner to undermine his Presidency. Hence why do woukd Mnguni expect any less?

But i think there was no need for Ralph to be so curt. Let alone try to wash your dirty linen in public. What do you really hope to achieve by publicly humiliating Jabavu like this? You might achieve the opposite and create more sympathisers for his camp. In future i advise that you just carry on trying to fulfill your mandate and ignore any detractors. Full scal verbal confrontation like this can degenerate into something worse. It can only weaken rather than strengthen your party.
Does it mean the elders in your camp are the right thinking and patriotic ones? Why not just do away with this abadhala syndrome? I have never understood it and its relevance in contemporary politics.
How do you hope to win the hearts and minds of those that were sitting on the fence when there seems to be so much instability? It makes people lose faith in politics.
Sadly i am one of those who has no faith in politicians.

Actually you are not watching from the sidelines....You are busy pilfering public funds in the MDC UK province and being pelted with eggs by your cadres...and your national leadership being booed in public by your own cadres In UK London...I wouldn't exactly call that watching from the sidelines ...more like fighting your own fires of indicipline within your ranksm, a coping with clandestine leadership efforts...Remember those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at people....

Concentrate on Tsvangirai, Mutambara, Biti and Sikhala before you pock your nose on Zapu affairs.
There is a lot of infighting in MDC to keep you busy than to worry about a speck on Zapus eye.
For your own information, Zapu was formed 1959, forty years before your fighting MDC. For fifty years we have never fought nor split. We are human we disagree but we are not animals we do not fight each other thus why we do not split.
There is nothing like exZapu in Zapu. Once a Zapu always Zapu thus why you see half of those who did not agree on technicalities on the set off are now back into the field. Zapu is like a harmonious Zimbabwean family and you will find yourself shyly in Zapu 2013.
Leadership is a genetic gift in Zapu and not an ambitious expirience as it is in Zanu MDC.
Compare Dabengwa or Mguni to Tsvangirai or Mugabe and you will wish you were in Zapu.

I see you people never learn , if you search well on Youtube there is a clip of your cousins claiming they want Zimbabwe to be a one state and that they want Nkomo to be hanged and put in jail and so on and so forth....What is wrong with you people and totalism , this winner takes all mentality is why we cannot afford to let either MDC or Zanu be at the forfront of the people's cause. Why would you like to see this as a one party province , do ou have a problem with competition. I don't even think that you would like to see Dr Ralph Mguni on the same debate platform with your Chawora because you man is less articulate ...The last I checked, he was pelted with eggs at the last provgincial meeting...You people are the laughing stock and I doubt your structures back home would like to be associated with MDC UK...You have power hungrey people all jostling to lead you to your demise....Your cadres are not discipline and neither are they loyal...Zapu and problems at the top and disciplined cadres followed the right channels to fix the problem, now all is fixed we are persuing the people's agenda...Your MDC UK cannot even attract leaders of Dr Ralp Mguni's calibre...You guys can only manage to be led by a former assistant police commissioner...That in Zapu would be like having a former 5th brigade commander leading a Zapu provincial executive, a taboo....Its not discriminatrion but the people would never allow it...the wounds are still fresh ...Step aside wanna be's Zimbabwe is a country with serious problems needing serious people with serious solutions ...not the toing and froming political zig zag that your lot seem to be doing with the people's fate, ans long as you employ a top down appreach to leadership you will forever be irellevant to the people. You as a people should get rid of this culture of appeasing your leaders at the expense of your issues , you have a culture of creating and fostoring dictators by stroking egos...do not be jealous when you see Zapu run on different rules come and join us and stop this one party province nonsense bask in the lamelight that competition shines one those who exell at leadership and organisation.....Dr Mguni has take time to do his duty and speak to the people to address the issues that have been doing the rise in the gossip columns...Lets see what you Chawora has done when your party was faced with such problems...he simply ignored it and left the people to make assumptions ...created a leadership vacuum which the likes of Pfebve capitalised on...and appointed themselves leaders...Its chaos and you still blame the only Ndebele members of your party just because you ingherently tribalist and never accept that your party is in a mess because of poor leadership....and disorganisation

Zapu UK is not in any problem today because the people spoke and the people are willing to listen. The people have organised themselves and elected their able leaders on 03 October and at all costs the people will work with the leaders of their own choice which is exactly what democracy is all about.
Any seeds of discode will serve to isolate those members who should be positive members of a galant party. I being a Zapu member, am ready to be criticised and I feel free to criticise because it is criticism that creates competition. Competion that creates excellence, Excellence that creates a party that is comparable to none in Zimbabwe.
All that Mugabe thinks is alright in Zanu. All that Tsvangirai says goes in MDC. The unique thing about Zapu is that a leader listens to the opinion of majority and forges new ways forward to comform with the people. If he has to stick to his own view, he still needs to explain and convince the people and if he fails to convince he can still go on to what he sees as being right as long as he has taken that important measure to consult the people first.
A Zapu leader is one who does not do things in secrecy. Secrets belong to Zanu because secrets contain evil.
As for myself I like the up-to-date leadership qualities of Ralph Mguni. He takes time to listen and is able to convince his people even where they doubt. He is down to earth and approachable, eloquent, encouraging, and is willing to take ideas of any little member of the party.
This makes him very different from the "SHEFU MENTALITY" of other parties and some members who want to import foreign tools into Zapu. It is this unique quality that will see Zapu grow to lead Zimbabwe two years down the line.
Doubters should watch this space, or just join the people. BE WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Zimbabwe, It has become a norm to those who claim to be the leaders to divide people. Mugabe indoctrination and those who spread the divide and rule ideology are working day and night to prevent progress made by the people. Let’s give people choices rather than forcing them to subscribe to ZANU ideology. The system created by Mugabe, which was design to suppress and oppress the people will collapse soon and those who surviving by sucking from the people will suffer more. The message from the ZAPU-UK chair is clear and is setting the record straight. Soon we will find out who is the tick. ZAPU is different from ZANU and MDC.

One wonders how on earth a meeting non-authentic can be advertised in the ZAPU main website.
The conclusion is that Mguni is desperate as the he can see the forces of politics crushing him.
ZAPU does not need people who are power hungry and who use laungage that is non communicative to the masses.
He is definately not connected with masses. That launguage is for people like Jonathan and Mtambara.
