The hunt for the missing £74 000 MDC-UK money has intensified as it emerged this week that the next two weeks will be crucial, The Zim Diaspora can reveal.
The "rebels" group met in Bristol on Saturday where they announced that apart from the on-going investigations which is being conducted by the party's Finance department in Harare, there were substantial developments which could happen in the next fortnight.
Addressing party supporters in Bristol, 109 miles outside London, veteran MDC-T legend, Mr Elliot Pfebve, said it was important that no stone is left unturned to restore the credibility of the party in the United Kingdom.
"We founded the MDC on the concept of accountability, and it this accountability which we hope to introduce in Zimbabwe. It is also the atmosphere of accountability which creates democracy, meaning without accountability we cannot achieve democracy in Zimbabwe," Mr Pfebve said.
"I would therefore only hint you that the next two weeks will be extremely crucial in the hunt for the missing money," he said in response to a supporter who had asked a question on whether there was any legal action being taken against those who have failed to properly account for party funds.
"I can confirm to you that the provincial financial account is full of irregularities. Party procedures have not been followed. Party funds have been converted to personal use by certain individuals" he said.
Mr Pfebve told anxious supporters that the party's National Executive has taken the concerns of the supporters seriously and have instituted investigations.
"Officially NEC in Harare has empowered all branches in the UK to individually remit funds direct to Harvest House without sending it through the Jonathan Chawora provincial executive. This is so because they cannot account for your money which you had entrusted them earlier, hence it does not make sense to keep on sending money to someone who cannot account for your money," said Mr Pfebve.
Mr Pfebve said it has been two years since the Chawora "team" came into existence, but sadly, he said, they have not properly accounted for the public funds they have been collecting from loyal supporters.
Mr Pfebve who declined to give details on what action his working committee will take, hinted that it is inevitable that the law of the land (Britain) would be consulted in due, in conjunction with Harare's finance committee.
"We are already seeking legal advice here and this is also being done in full knowledge of Harare," he said without elucidating.
Another speaker was Mr Godfrew Magwindiri, a professional accountant who said: "Having looked through all the paper work that has been produced by the Chawora executive, there is indeed a case to answer".

Listen, we do not care about ZANU and MDC. Why? Because both of them are rubbish. What we care about are people of Zimbabwe including you GIDZA that seem not to understand that ZANU and MDC are one and the same. If not, please, tell me what is the difference. Tsvangirai and Mugabe and their inner cycle are eating all the cake while you are busy clapping hands for them. You have even given them the little that you have to them so that they can feed their children while yours can hardly have one square meal per year.
Yes, GIDZA we are stupid but we are not stupid enough to give those thugs the little money we have so that they enrich themselves while you and your children are starving. You went on and said that if we have issues we should bring them through proper channels. What are proper channels and if you tell us we are going to happily use them so that you can listen to us because we care and we want to help.
ZANU and MDC are indeed one and the same. Jumping out of ZANU and into MDC is like jumping off the frying pan into the fire that is burning the frying pan. You will be trying to do something but I do not think that is a good move.

You don't have facts you just insult someone for trying to find the truth. Mind you this guy lost his brother dai uriwe uchiitirwa izvozvo pafunge. I dont have any problem with the removal of chaora if he is clean he can stay until his term expires. Why are you crying or defending something you don know.
Common sense is not common.

SOME OF US KNOW THAT THE MAJORITY OF MDC THINK AND DO THINGS LIKE ZANU.
WE KNOW THAT MDC CANNOT BRING THE CHANGE THAT ZIMBABWE WANTS BUT JUST A CONTINUATION OF THE OLD CORRUPT, DECEITFUL, TRIBAL, DIVISIVE, DICTATORIAL,POWERGLUED,NEPOTIST, SELFISH, PUPPET REGIME.
DEMOCRACY DEMANDS FROM US TO EDUCATE OUR PEOPLE ABOUT THE DANGERS OF REPLACING ZANU BY ZANU THUS WHY WE ARE HUNTING FOR THOSE WHO SEE HOPE IN ZAPU.

only zanoids will believe that pfebve lost in bindura bcoz he was unpopular.if so why is it bindura and mash central had probably the highest political violence in zim in the 2000 elections?
indeed chawora won legitimate elections at the congress beating pfebve, thats democracy.does that give them then the right to embezzel party funds? thats anal reasoning indeed.
MDC uk is in this shit because it is led by people who in their hearts are not mdc, have never been mdc and will never be.its just an organisation driven by the need to regularise papers and shelfish hawks wanting a quick buck.
if this issue is a fallacy why dont the serious fraud squad be invited and an independent auditor look at the books?only idiots will think that statements presented in milton keynes were genuine.
i will be surprised if any one of you guys actually know what mdc is and stands for and can intellectually have an debate on issues and policies other than just say chinja.
