Roy Bennett granted bail

MDC-T Treasurer-General and deputy agriculture minister designate, Senator Roy Bennett has been granted bail at the High Court despite frantic efforts by the State to invoke the notorious Section 121 to block his freedom.

The decision by the State to invoke Section 121 shows that the Attorney-General’s office no nolnger independently practice the judiciary principles but was now used by Zanu PF thugs in persecuting MDC officials and supporters.

The MDC-T has reacting by saying: "Such a move vindicates our position that Bennett’s case is 100 percent politics and zero percent law".

Bennett’s case is one of the several instances where national institutions such as the Attorney-general’s Office have been abused by Zanu PF to achieve its ruthless political goals.

The MDC-T added: "Our position is now vindicated that all outstanding issues, including the issue of Attorney-General Johannes Tomana, must be resolved urgently".

"The MDC is a party of excellence. The people of Zimbabwe want hope, dignity, freedom, security and prosperity," the MDC-T said.
