Sekai Holland has come under heavy criticism from chiefs in Mashonaland Central who said the controversial minister's remarks about King Mzilikazi should not go unchalllenged because such falsehood risks creating inter-generational tensions based on distorted colonial history.
Holland is the Zimbabwean Minister of State for National Healing, Reconciliation and Integration in the office of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
She is reported to have made reference to King Mzilikazi and his people in a manner that sparked outrage when the statement was published in online publications.
“By the time that Mzilikazi’s mob came after stealing cattle (from Zululand), there was just nothing they knew how to do that had not been done before. And when the Pioneer Column came, they were not as professional as the one who had come before (Mzilikazi),” Minister Holland is reported as having said.
Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has also condemned Holland's statement while pressure to sack her seems to be growing everyday.
Holland's statements would seem to have affected the MDC-T's Matabeleland powerhouse as most supporters in the region are now calling for her sacking. It remains to be seen how the Prime Minister will handle the volatile situation and the iron of it is that she is the minister of reconciliation but is now seen as triggering-off hate and anger among Zimbabweans.
Yesterday, the chiefs in Mashonaland Central joined their Matabeleland counterparts and challenged Sekai Holland to come up with a figure of cattle she claims were stolen by King Mzilikazi so that they could compensate her for the sake of national reconciliation.
Its now been nearly 200 years when King Mzilikazi who was Tshaka's trusted general arrived in a country north of Limpopo now called Zimbabwe. There is no accurately recorded history except unreliable folktales and colonialist writings which has proved to be distorted, moreso bent on antagonising and destabilising local Africans.
While Tshaka's Zululand was made up of Zulus only, Mzilikazi combined several tribes such as Zulus, Tsvanas, Sothos, Vendas, Kalangas, Shonas, Tongas etc to build what he called the Ndebele nation or uMthwakazi nation. This earned him the nick-name "The Nation Builder". No one was tribally excluded in the Ndebele nation.
Mashonaland Central Chiefs, said unfortunately, minister Holland has chosen to perpetuate false colonial writings whose aim was to divide and then colonise Africans. They said such a distorted stone age myth which Minister Holland seem to be embracing can cause the country to slide into Rwandan genocides, hence their intervention. The chiefs condemned Mrs Holland.
Riled by Holland's militant and divisive statement chiefs who were attending the launch of the National Healing and Reconciliation in Bindura Mashonaland central province blasted the beleagured minister for preaching hate at a time when Zimbabweans need to be united.
First to speak was Chief Muranganwa Chiweshe ( 81) who said " Its alarming to hear such a hate statement from a dignitary who should be vanguard to national healing and reconciliation. I call upon Mrs Holland to come forward with a list of all that was stolen from her by the great Mzilikazi,failure to do that she must then stop using folktales to divide our people."
"We have already seen enough divide in our beautiful country, we dont want people who are supposed to be champions of healing turning out to be champions of divisions," he said.
The elderly chief said it was unfortunate that after making such an "evil" statement Holland was allowed to remain in her position as though nothing has happened.
Chief Murangwana said Holland's statement was based on lack of knowledge and lack of respect for founding fathers of this great nation. He said there a lot of exaggeration that has been passed on by colonists to our generation as a means of divide the nation.
He said no one was there, all what Sekai was talking about is a product of colonial history designed to antagonise a great king like Mzilikazi.
The combative chief said denigrating King Mzilikazi was as good as attacking Sekuru Kaguvi and Ambuya Nehanda.
" How can Sekai claim to have lost cattle to Mzilikazi? How many did she lost? Her lies are based on lack of knowledge and utter disrespect of our founding fathers. We want our leaders to remove such people from ever speaking in public forum not even holding public offices" he said.
Chief Murangwana was seconded by Chief Madziwa who also lamented the remarks made by Holland.
" I was shocked to hear that a minister, a woman for that matter could say such a lie," he said.
The Chiefs also implored the authorities to involve parties in the national healing and reconciliation process.

Thus why the majority of people in Zimbabwe do not support the killing and looting of White farms. They wont even support white farmers having extraordinary big farms.
They may be poor, but l trust my Zimbabweans for being fair, heartfull and intelligent.
The only problem is that we have armed criminals running the government, MDC and ZANU. They all prey on the Ndebele for their survival. But they all take Matebeleland fogranted.

It is not a lie that Mzilikazi was a war monger and cattle rustler. The Shona's were at pains to keep their lives stocks. In Botswana there is a town called Lobatse meaning "hide these ones" amongst the hills and mountains from the marauding Zulu warriors. The used to capture and enslave other tribes whom they called "amahole" meaning those that keep guide while the master defecates.
It is Zanu pf propaganda which they are using to denigrate the opposition through blowing out of proportion what every one knows to be historically true. Up to now there are caves and burrows full of cereals stored away from the rummaging hordes of warriors that confiscated everything they came across while burning whatever they could not carry away.
How did the Ndebeles come to be called so? It is a nick name given to them by Shona's because they "tevera zvinhu zvavamwe". They took by force and reined through terror. They was no alliance but conquest.
The white man came and followed in the same spirit of creating servants and slaves of the Shona tribes.
And the chiefs wants to turn a blind eye to that fact for the sake of expedience? Shame upon them. They now want to wet the appetites of the blood thirst zpf and play to their drum beat. Chiefs should stay clear of putting pressure on anyone as they are the fathers and leaders of the nation. They should maintain a middle ground than castigating one of their own offspring in public.

History repeats itself until the sin of inequity is uprooted. Madzviti are well known, not due to the twisted historical accounts, but by true historical events such as the "imphitsane", Ndebele-Boer war etc. The Ndebele-Boer war was driven by Madzviti who when they were defeated sought the Shona "mhondoro" help and we see Kaguvi and Nehanda coming to give the impetus to war drive.
But prior to that the Ndebeles had subjugated the Shonas who would pay tribute to their kings or be murdered.
What zpf is doing today is no knew thing. They read history well and know that only through brutal force will Zimbabwean be beaten into submission. Smith used the same trick. Zanu used the same trick during the war and after. There was no reconciliation that carried out after the war of liberation. Mugabe went thorough the motions of it to the whites but ignored the black majority.
Mugabe then followed it up with Gukurahundi! And the Ndebeles want to conveniently forget this.
What Holland was sayong the whole hostory need to be looked at so that no one will be spared. If Mzilikazi was looked at, Rhodes was examined, Smith was looked at then Mugabe needed to be looked at.
By refusing to look at what role Mzikazi played in introducing or perpetuating violence in the country, then Mugabe can as well be given a blanket amnesty! And everyone is playing ball on this one.

Last time I told you about a yellow Shona cow called Hard Mashona type which you cant find in Matebeleland and I challenged you to provide scientific proof as an academic to back your claim. You went on to claim that King Mzilikazi took all the beautifull Shona women leaving the Shona men desperate with urgly women like Maidei or Sekai Horendi women.
My sister as you know that you and me will never agree, I am in dis agreement because the woman I see in Bulawayo is as beautiful as I see in zululand. One I see in Harare is same as one I see in Tanzania. In other simple ways, go on internet and download the photograph of Mrs Raila Odinga, Kenya and compare to Sekai Horandi. Look at Thokozani Kuphe and compare to Mrs Mswati Swaziland, LANGANGAZA. You will dismiss your BHIYUTIFURU WHIMENI theory.

Robert Mugabe is a certified killing machine. When you go back to Mashonaland go to 50 year old people and ask them to show you graves of people who were killed by Zanu before 1980. There is no four square kilometre in Mashonaland where you wont find a grave of a Shona Zanu victim.
Tell me who then was Mugabe revenging by killing 17 000 shonas between 1975 and 1980? You always thought Mugabe is your friend. All Mugabes friends I know died suspicious and painful deaths. If he is your friend, you are next.
