Zimbabwean swimmer shines in Britain
Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe set her second world record this week at the short-course swimming world championships in Manchester, England, on Saturday.

Coventry finished the women's 200-metre individual medley in two minutes 6.13 seconds.

Allison Wagner of United States had set the previous mark of 2:07.79 in December 1993. It was the oldest record in short-course swimming.

Coventry was 1.34 seconds faster than Mireia Belmonte of Spain. Hannah Miley of England finished third.
The same three women finished in the top three at Wednesay's 400 medley, with Miley second and Belmonte third. In that race, Coventry broke Yana Klochkova's six-year old world record, clocking in at 4:26.52.

The Netherlands set a world record in the women's 400-metre freestyle relay. The team finished in 3 minutes, 29.42 seconds Saturday to beat its own record of 3:33.22 set in April 2006. Australia and England were second and third, respectively.

In other results Saturday, Peter Marshall of the United States won the 50-metre backstroke and Australian Adam Pine took the 50-metre butterfly. American Jessica Hardy took the women's 100 backstroke
